Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Hyde) Maraglia

Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Hyde) Maraglia, 91, died Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Accent Care Hospice in Milton, after a period of declining health. Born in Hyannis, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Stoughton High School, Class of 1951. In January 1959, she married Vincent S. Maraglia, Jr., and together they spent 47 years of marriage and raised their beloved daughter Gina, until his death in 2006. Betty was a dedicated wife and mother who later worked at Ashmont Hardware in Stoughton for 10 years. She was a dedicated member and Past President of Old Stoughton Musical Society and enjoyed singing and performing with them for many years. Betty loved crocheting, puzzles and doing crossword puzzles in her free time and her most cherished times were spent with her family and friends. 

Betty is survived by her daughter Gina M. Maraglia of Taunton. She was the sister of William Hyde of Brockton, Patricia Varney of Stoughton and the late Margaret Roche.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday on December 6th at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Old Stoughton Musical Society, P.O.
