Elizabeth R. Lagarde

Elizabeth R. "Lib" Lagarde, 90, a resident of Canton, died at Norwood Hospital on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth R. (Reynolds) Lagarde, she was born and raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. Lib was a graduate of Bridgewater State College, where she was a member of the Sigma Theta Phi sorority. She earned her Master's Degree from Boston University and also attended the Harvard School of Education. She was a resident of Canton for the past 14 years and enjoyed summers in West Harwich for many years. Lib taught kindergarten thru 4th grade in Attleboro and Norwood for many years before retiring from Norwood Public Schools many years ago. She was a member of both the Massachusetts and Norwood Teacher's Associations. She was a former Secretary of the Stoughton Democratic Town Committee and was an avid golfer.

Lib was the sister of the late Mary L. Lagarde. She is survived by several cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, September 25 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
