Elisa D. (DePonte) DeOlim, 76, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro due to complications from Diabetes. She was the wife of the late Joao DeOlim. Born in Porto Moniz, Madeira, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Madeira. Mrs. DeOlim came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Stoughton, where she lived for 17 years. She worked for Datel in Mansfield for many years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. DeOlim was a resident of Mansfield since 2009. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidering, playing dominos and cards, gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. DeOlim is survived by her children: Jose DeOlim and his wife Natalia and Maria DeOlim all of Raynham, John DeOlim of Stoughton, Marilyn Bayley and her husband John of Mansfield and Antonio DeOlim and his wife Tracy of Wareham. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Donations in Elisa's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
