Elisa F. (Freitas) Baldes

Elisa F. (Freitas) Baldes, 96, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.  She was the wife of the late Fernando F. Baldes.  Daughter of the late Francisco T. and Carolina I. (Freitas) Freitas, she was born and raised Flores, Azores, Portugal before coming to Stoughton in 1973.   She spent her last 3 years at Care One in Randolph.  Elisa worked for Datel in both Canton and Mansfield for 14 years before retiring in 1992.   She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton.  She enjoyed sewing and crocheting but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandson.

Elisa was the mother of Jose L. Baldes and his wife Maria and Maria B. Melo and her husband Antonio all of Stoughton and the late João F. Baldes and Maria I. Baldes.  She was the grandmother of Michael Melo and his wife Jaclyn and great-grandmother of Benjamin and Abigail Melo.  She was the sister of the late Alvaro, Henriques, Fernando, Arminda, Maria and Alice Freitas and Liceria Avelar.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, February 6 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.  Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
