Eleanor M. (Bourne) Tosca, 92, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 after a period of failing health. She was the widow of George P. Tosca. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton Schools. Mrs. Tosca was a resident of Stoughton for many years, before moving to Duxbury several months ago. She worked as a bookkeeper for Tosca Brothers Drywall before becoming a cafeteria worker in the South School in Stoughton. A communicant and long time volunteer of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Mrs. Tosca was a great neighbor and a devoted and giving friend. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, gardening, reading and spending time at the ocean.
She is survived by her two sons: George P. Tosca, Jr. of Duxbury and Robert R. Tosca of Taunton. In addition to her husband, She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia McAnneny and her two brothers, Raymond Bourne and Leon "Eenie" Bourne. She was also a loving Nana to her 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, Brockton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham 01701 or to Disabled American Veterans, VA Regional Office, Rm 1575B JFK Fed Bldg. Boston, MA 02203. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
