Elaine R. (Connor) Mattingly, 58, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at her home in Stoughton after a long illness. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. She resided in Brockton for several years before moving back to Stoughton several years ago. She also graduated from Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, LaBoure' College in Dorchester and Stonehill College in Easton. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Manor in Brockton for 15 years before working at Woodridge Nursing Home in Brockton for 3 years. She retired 10 years ago. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating, arts, antiques and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Mattingly is survived by her beloved husband, best friend and caregiver, Edward G. Mattingly, Sr.; her five children, James P. Connor and his wife Lupita of Notus, ID, twins Edward G. Mattingly, Jr. and Melissa R. Vaccaro and her husband David all of Stoughton, twins Marlene M. Mattingly of Canton and Michelle R. Mattingly of Stoughton; her mother, Mervis E. Connor of Stoughton; three grandchildren, Benjamin Connor and Blaide Connor of ID and Elaana DiPena of Stoughton; four sisters, Roberta M. Large and her husband Rich of Rochester, NH, Beverly F. Doherty of Brockton, Barbara Swallow Littig of Stoughton, Carol L. DiStefano and her husband Albert of Stoughton; two brothers, Richard T. Swallow and Robert C. Connor and his wife Donna all of Stoughton; nieces and nephews, Kerri Kelley, David Fischer, Troy Large, Scott Large, Larry Hunter, Jr., Christina Swallow, Michael Swallow, Rick Swallow, Jason Connor Cerci, David Haglof, Tess Connor, Megan Connor, Jeanna DiStefano, Robbie DiStefano and Jay DiStefano. She was predeceased by her father, Robert C. Connor, father-in-law Davis G. Mattingly; grandparents, Thorold S. and Ruth E. Curtis and infant niece, Tanya Hunter.

Funeral Service will be held at First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St. Stoughton on Saturday, December 15 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Elaine's memory may be made to the Mattingly Family Trust Fund, c/o Eastern Bank, 297 Washington St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
