Elaine G. (Greenlaw) Leonard, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at her home in Franklin on Saturday, December 28, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Leonard. Born in Melrose, she was a graduate of Melrose High School and attended IBM School. Mrs. Leonard was a homemaker who served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a Veteran of World War II. In her free time, she enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, reading and spending time with her family. She was a volunteer for Red Cross Bloodmobile and was recognized as a member of the Stoughton Association of Exceptional Citizens.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her children, Dorothy Leonard of Springfield and Robert G. Leonard of RI. She was predeceased by her daughter Barbara J. Chaperon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Toby Chaperon and his wife Regina, Ryan Chaperon and Shelley Chuplis and her great grandchildren, Alexis & Noah Chaperon. She was the sister of Edward E. Greenlaw and his wife Evelyn of NH and the late Parker M. Greenlaw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, January 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4–7 PM. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
