Elaine Rose (Schmidt) Bova

Elaine Rose (Schmidt) Bova, 79, a resident of Easton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, April 12, 2024.  She was the wife of the late David Paul Bova.  Daughter of the late Joseph F. and Irma (Kranyecz) Schmidt, she was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA. Elaine was a Class of 1963 graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem.  She then earned a diploma from Humbolt Institute in Minneapolis, MN and an associate degree from Massasoit Community College in Brockton.  She resided in Stoughton for 55 years before moving to Easton last year. She was a homemaker and also wrote for the Stoughton Chronicle.  She was a secretary for the Admirals in the U.S. Navy at the Pentagon years ago.  She was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed reading, especially true crime novels, playing Bingo, watching Jeopardy and her cats.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Denise Bova of South Easton and Sandi Bova Cadero and her husband Jay of Walpole, as well as her grandsons, J.D. and Brandon Cadero.  She was the sister of Joseph “Mitch” Schmidt of Fayetteville, NC and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine‘s memory may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000 (www.bestfriends.org).
