Eileen C. (Mahoney) Mone McDonald, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 21. She was the wife of the late James E. McDonald. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Mission High School. She also earned both an undergraduate and Master's Degree from UMass-Boston. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. Mrs. McDonald was a manager at the Dept. of Transitional Assistance in both Brockton and Taunton for 35 years before retiring in 2000. In her free time she enjoyed playing cribbage.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children, Thomas J. Mone of Quincy, Daniel P. Mone of Stoughton, Jeanne M. Naphen of Easton, Ronald J. Mone of Dartmouth and Dennis S. Mone of Marshfield as well as her grandchildren, Renee and Robert Naphen. She was the sister of Cornelius Mahoney of VA, Mary O'Grady of FL, Kevin Mahoney of Westwood, Philip Mahoney of Boston and Katie Begley of Hanover. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, December 28 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
