Edward A. Rudis, 99, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, September 3, 2018. He was the husband of the late Patricia J. (St. Pierre) Rudis. Son of the late John and Agnes (Buzidragis) Rudis, he was born and raised in Bridgewater and graduated from Bridgewater High School. He also earned his Associate Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University. Edward was a resident of Stoughton since 1958. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Draper Labs and Lincoln Labs at M.I.T. for over 50 years before retiring at age 72. Edward was a member of the Shedad Grotto Masonic Lodge in Brockton and a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton. He was a pilot and a sailor, and enjoyed building radio controlled airplanes, painting, photography and animals. He also was a H.A.M. radio operator.
Edward was the father of Deborah Rudis and her longtime companion Kim Titus of Juneau, AK, Mark E. Rudis of Seattle, WA and the late David P. Rudis. He was the brother of the late Edmund and Amelia Rudis.
A Memorial Service will be held from the First Congregational Church of Stoughton, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton on Thursday, September 13 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will be private.
