Edward B. Myers, 82, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mary G. (Morrison) Myers. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mattapan and Jamaica Plain and educated in Boston Schools. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Marine Corps. Mr. Myers was a resident of Stoughton since 1971. He worked as the Buildings Supervisor for the Boston Public Library for many years, retiring in 2001. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Dorchester. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports, traveling, dining out and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children; Joan M. Campagna and her husband Richard of Dedham, Michael E. Myers and his wife Lynne of Holden, Robert B. Myers and his wife Mary of Bridgewater, Claire A. Cardoza of Rayham and John J. Myers and his wife Mary of West Bridgewater. He was the brother of Grace Fairbairn of Arlington, Patricia Duffy and Robert Myers both of West Roxbury and the late Paul Myers, Alfred Myers, Donald Myers, Francis Myers and Claire Dolan. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 26 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
