Edward W. Kimtis, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, November 15. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Kristiansen) Kimtis. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton schools. Mr. Kimtis was a carpenter and machinist at Paquette Machine in Avon for 30 years before retiring in 1990. He was active at the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton and enjoyed woodworking and wood carving.
Mr. Kimtis is survived by his children, Marie G. Baker and her husband Andrew of Brockton, Edward J. Kimtis and his wife Amelia of NJ and David J. Kimtis and his wife Susan of Berkley. He was the grandfather of Sarah Beatty, Robert Baker, Kevin, Christopher, John, Alexander, Justin and Connor Kimtis. He was the brother of Alice White of Brockton, Dorothy Lewis of CA and the late Joseph, Charles and Stanley Kimtis.
Funeral Service will be held from the First United Methodist Church, 103 Pleasant St., Stoughton on Tuesday, November 22 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will take place at Dry Pond Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Edward's memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 103 Pleasant St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
