Edward T. Costello, 81, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband and best friend of 54 years of Mabel E. (White) Costello. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Roslindale and a graduate of Roslindale High School. He was a Airman 1st Class in the US Air Force and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Costello worked as a supervisor for Wallboard Construction Company in Natick for over 36 years, retiring at age 65. He was a member of Painter's Local 577 in Weymouth. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to Mohegan Sun and attending tribal and cultural events. He also enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean for many years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed exercising at the Stoughton YMCA. He was a dedicated and beloved father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Mark E. Costello of Easton, and his daughter, Christine C. Varano and her husband Anthony of Duxbury. He was the grandfather of Kenneth E. Costello, Kyle P. Costello, Sara M. Varano and Amie F. Varano. He was the brother of the late Bernard M. and John Costello. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemtery, Bourne at 12:45 PM.
