Edward M. Burke, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Copley at Stoughton on Thursday, September 10. He was the husband of the late Hope M. (Gregory) Burke. Born in Boston, he was educated in Boston Schools and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He was a resident of Stoughton for 50 years. Mr. Burke was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps and a Veteran of World War II. He was the Treasurer at Malden Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 1985.
Mr. Burke is survived by his daughter, Beverly A. Bucklin of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Kendra and James "J.J." Bucklin. He was the brother of Eleanor Forrest of Squantum and the late Clara Quinn and Ruth Fogarty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, September 14 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Edward's name may be made to the Michael J.
