Edward Alfred Brundige, 65, died peacefully at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on Sunday, April 4, 2021 after a period of failing health. Son of the late Alfred E. and Mary T. (Wakefield) Brundige, he was born in Brockton, raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. Ed lived in Stoughton for many years before living in the Attleboro area for several years. He worked for Franklin Sports in Stoughton for over 30 years before retiring in 2001. Ed was a former Troop Leader for the Boys Scouts of America. He enjoyed model making, refinishing antique furniture, woodworking, gardening, storytelling, reading, puzzles and old Western movies.
Ed is survived by his children, Michael J. Brundige and his wife Meghan, Christen N. Haviland and her husband Michael, John R. Brundige and his fiancé Sara, Eric Williams and Kaitlyn Williams. He was the brother of Kate Wakefield and Ronald Wakefield. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and his former wife, Cindy (Rancel) McDonald.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, April 9 from 10-11 AM. Masks and social distancing required. Due to the coronavirus pandemic a private prayer service will follow for his family. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
