Eduino Ferreira

Eduino "Eddie" Mendonca Ferreira, 72, a resident of Sun City Center, FL died Thursday, June 30 at home. He was born on November 28, 1938 in Caveira, Azores, Portugal before coming to Stoughton over 50 years ago. He was the son of Ana (Mendonca) Ferreira of Portugal and the late Mariano Ferreira. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Stoughton Dept. of Public Works for over 25 years. Upon retiring, he moved with his wife to Sun City Center, FL 6 years ago. Mr. Ferreira was a member of the Sun City Center Security Patrol and a member of the Moose Lodge in Ruskin, FL.
Mr. Ferreira is survived by his wife, Denise M. Comeau of Sun City Center, FL, as well as 3 sons, Edward Ferreira of Bridgewater, Michael and James Ferreira both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Maria Reis and Estela De Sousa both of Stoughton, Celeste Costa of Portugal and the late Antonio "Tony" Ferreira. He leaves 2 grandchildren, Eddie J. Ferreira of Whitman and Jennifer Ferreira of Hartford, CT and 1 great-grandson, Anthony J. Ferreira of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. His greatest joy was his family, his passion in life was his gardening and exercising with his many friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, July 7 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. May our beloved Eddie rest in peace.
