Edna M. (Shonyo) Wilson, 91, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 49 years of the late Frederick O. Wilson. Born in Magog, Quebec, Canada, she was raised and educated in Magog. She moved to the United States in 1956 and was a longtime resident of Brockton. Mrs. Wilson worked as a secretary for Cumberland Farms in Canton for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting for all the new babies of the family and extended family members, music and spending time with her family. Her stories and sayings from her "younger days" will be missed by her family.
She is survived by her children, Rosalie Lavigne of VT, Jimbo Wilson and his wife Margaret of Brockton, Heather Edwards and her husband Bob, Marjorie Pedini and her husband Mike all of Attleboro, Susan Wilson and her friend George Ray of RI and Paul Wilson of Middleboro. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Harold Wilson, her son-in-law Steve Lavigne and 2 brothers and 1 sister. She was the grandmother of 12, the "GG" to 19 and was the great great grandmother of 1. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, March 29 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday, March 28, from 5-8 PM. Donations in Edna's memory may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 45 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
