Edmund James Hehir

Edmund James Hehir, 59, formerly of Canton, MA died Monday, September 2nd.
Born in Boston son of the late Edmund J. Hehir Sr. and Elizabeth (Powers) Hehir, he graduated from Canton High School in 1973. Mr. Hehir earned his B.S in Fisheries Management from University of Rhode Island. He loved the ocean and enjoyed making his living on the sea. Mr. Hehir worked as a lobsterman and also was co-owner of a wholesale fish company for many years.
He was the brother of Michael, Bryan and Kevin Hehir and Maureen (Hehir) Sweeney and her husband David. He was the uncle of Katherine (Sweeney) Pacheco and her husband Daniel, Sean Sweeney, Liam Hehir and Roan Hehir; and the great uncle of Devon Pacheco and Haylee Pacheco.
A Funeral Mass officiated by his cousin Rev. Bryan Hehir, will be celebrated at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton, MA on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton MA. Gathering afterwards at Foley's Backstreet Grille, 531 Pearl Street, Stoughton, MA. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 51 Sleeper Street, Boston, MA 02210.
