Edith L. "Lou" (Brooks) DePalma, 82, died at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Sunday, February 4 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Damiano "Dan" DePalma. Born and educated in Birmingham, AL, Mrs. DePalma was a resident of Brockton for 44 years after living many years in Providence, RI. She was an office manager at Kennedy's Clothing in Brockton for 20 years before retiring 15 years ago.
Mrs. DePalma is survived by her sons, Paul W. DePalma and his wife Sandra of Bridgewater and Gary B. DePalma and his wife Dianne of Wilmington, as well as her grandchildren, Paul D. DePalma and his wife Heather, Danielle E. DePalma and Melissa DePalma and her great-grandson, Drew T. DePalma. She is also survived by her siblings, James Brooks and Martha McCurry both of AL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis J. DePalma.
Funeral Service will be held from the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 529 Charles St., Providence, RI on Thursday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at North Burial Ground in Providence, RI.
