Eamonn M. "Ned" Hanley, 72, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was the husband of Mary (Mulligan) Hanley for 45 years. Son of Kathleen (Tooher) Hanley of Dublin, Ireland and the late Edward Hanley, Ned was born and raised in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. He resided in Stoughton since 1974. He was an accountant for Tyco International in Lowell for 22 years, then worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for 10 years before retiring in 2012. An avid sports fan, Mr. Hanley also enjoyed playing golf, reading and music.
In addition to his wife and his mother, Ned is survived by his siblings, Marion Hanley, Gerard Hanley and Declan Hanley all of Ireland and Carmal Croft and Paul Hanley both of England. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, September 22 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eamonn's memory may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Office of Development, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215, Attn: Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
