Douglas R. Boyd, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Thursday, September 28, 2017. He was the husband of the late Margaret L. (Brown) Boyd. Born and raised in Roxbury, he was a graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School. He resided in Stoughton since 1975. Doug was a bus driver for B.A.T. for 27 years before retiring in 2005. Prior to that he was a meat smoker for M.M. Mades in Somerville. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, crossword puzzles and walking his dog, Diesel.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Sandra J. Bettencourt of Brockton, Debra A. Boyd and her fiancé Roger Levy of Middleboro and Christine M. Beaule and her husband John of Randolph, as well as his granddaughter, Maegan Beaule and his great-granddaughter, Victoria Grace Beaule. He was the brother of Margaret Brown of California, Lester Boyd of Westwood, Florence Davis of Middleboro and the late Owen Boyd, Robert Boyd and Mary Cohen. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Malakai Ridgley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
