Dorothy T. (McNerney) Nazzaro, 89, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Baypointe Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on November 9, 2016. She was the wife of Eugene A. Nazzaro, Jr. for 66 years. Daughter of the late John and Mary McNerney, she was born in Boston and raised in South Boston. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Gate of Heaven High School in South Boston. She resided in Quincy for 20 years before moving to Stoughton 4 years ago. Mrs. Nazzaro worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for 20 years before retiring at age 62. She also was a waitress at Blinstrub's Village and Anthony's Pier 4, both in South Boston, for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking, biking and trips to Newfound Lake in New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her children, Eugene A. Nazzaro, III and his wife Maria of Stoughton and Judy A. Walsh and her husband Stephen of Brockton, as well as her grandchildren, Jennifer Walsh, Matthew Walsh, Eugene A. Nazzaro, IV, Michael Nazzaro and Christian Nazzaro and her great-grandchildren, Aaron Walsh and Ethan Nazzaro. She was the sister of the late Thomas Regan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, November 15 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
