Dorothy M. "Dot" (Hackett) Larkin, 97, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home surrounded by her family, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James G. Larkin. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mrs. Larkin was a resident of Stoughton for the past 30 years, previously living in West Roxbury for over 40 years. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was an avid bingo player and loved traveling to any casino. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
Dot was the mother of Jack Larkin and his wife Louise of CA and Ellen P. Coyne and her husband Kevin of Stoughton, with whom she made her home. She was the devoted grandmother of Sean Larkin and his wife Tricia, Kerry Lama, Kevin Coyne and his wife Cynthia and Anthony Larkin and his wife Melissa. She was the loving great grandmother of Colin Lama, Riley Coyne, Cameron, Tatum, Kevin, Grant and Hunter Larkin. She was the sister of the late Gus Hackett, Emily Doran, Catherine Gureghian, James Hackett, Jr. and Frank Hackett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Mass at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton from 9-10 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Dot's family would like to Thank the staff at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home for the care, kindness and compassion shown to her during her stay there.
