Dorothy A. Glassford

Dorothy A. (Cavanagh) Glassford, 89, died February 12, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Glassford. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in South Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. Mrs. Glassford was a resident of Stoughton since 1952. She worked as a cafeteria worker in the Stoughton Junior High School and in the Stoughton School System for over 20 years, retiring over 20 years ago. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and playing Bingo and Backgammon.
She is survived by her children, Robert E. Glassford, Jr. and his wife Eleanor of NV, Francis L. Glassford and his wife Patricia of FL, Mary M. Morrill of Stoughton and Lynda L. Glassford of Marstons Mills. She was the sister of the late James Cavanagh, Francis L. Cavanagh, Charles Cavanagh, Joseph V. Cavanagh and Paul D. Cavanagh. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 19 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park. Donations in Dottie's memory may be made to the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern MA, 1300 W. Elm Ext, Brockton, MA 02301.
