Dorothy M. (Gagnon) Carbone, 89, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James T. Carbone. Born in Boston, she was raised in Readville and Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Mrs. Carbone was a resident of Stoughton for over 65 years. She was a dedicated homemaker who also worked at the former Cardinal Cushing Hospital and also worked at Blue Hills Nursing Home in Stoughton for many years. She retired several years ago. She was also a foster mother to 6 children. In her free time, she enjoyed painting while at the Copley Nursing Home, watching "Days of Our Lives", eating chocolate, dining out with her family and attending family functions.
Mrs. Carbone is survived by her children; Dorothy Smith of Brockton, Marilyn Leonard of Norton, James P. Carbone of VA, Louise Stegnick of Taunton and Paul Carbone of FL. She was the sister of the late Ruth Deely and is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, April 4, at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday, April 3, from 2-5 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
