Doris A. (Bethoney) Spann, 86, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Donald J. Spann. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in the South End and Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mrs. Spann was a resident of Stoughton for the past 3 years, previously living in Brockton for over 20 years. She worked as a Manager at the Ramada Hotel in Norwood for over 20 years, retiring several years ago. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Spann was the mother of Linda M. Dodge and her husband R. Kevin Dodge of Wareham, Judy A. Daniels and her husband Edwin D. of Brockton, Doris Jean Flynn and her husband James of Avon, Wilma L Doyle and her husband Michael of Hull, Donald J. Spann and his wife Tracy of Taunton, Ima Dell Gilmore and her husband Francis of Stoughton, David Parrett and his wife Claudia of Carver and the late Donna Marie Spann. She was the sister of Richard Bethoney of Brockton, Anna DeAngelis of Hyde Park, James Bethoney of AZ, Elsie Perry of Taunton and the late Florence Azar, Vera Carter, Ronald Bethoney, Patricia Bethoney and Robert Bethoney. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held in the Living Word Church, 1090 West Chestnut St., Brockton on Thursday, October 27 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
