Doris J. Powers

Doris J. (Vallee) Powers, 88, died at the Morton Hospital in Taunton on Sunday, September 21. She was the wife of the late William J. Powers. Born in Fall River, she was a graduate of Fall River Schools and Burdett Business School in Boston. Mrs. Powers was a resident of Taunton for the past 28 years after living in Hyde Park for 40 years. She was a secretary at FDIC in Boston for 15 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Council on Aging, the Oakland Seniors and St. Paul's Women's Guild all in Taunton.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her children, Nancy E. Carolan of Stoughton, William J. Powers of AZ and Mary D. Paolini of Falmouth, as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, September 26 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours prior from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton from 9-10 AM. Burial will take place at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
