Donaldina M. "Donnie" (Kelley) Gately, 52, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 16, at her home. She was the wife of 22 years of Robert E. Gately. Born in Boston she was a life long resident of Canton. Mrs. Gately was a graduate of Fontbonne Academy in Milton and of Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Mrs. Gately worked as an Art teacher at Lillian Jacobs Elementary School in Hull since graduating college in 1975. Mrs. Gately was a member of the Mass. Teachers Assn. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her daughters, Courtney D. and Jenna E. both of Canton. She was the sister of Mary E. Kelley of Hull, Ann Marie Norton of Plymouth, Janet Kelley of Hyde Park, Leo P. Kelley of California, Joseph Galvin, Elizabeth Galvin, William Galvin, Katherine Galvin and Patrick Galvin all of Canton, and the late John Galvin. She was the step daughter of Jean (Galvin) Moakley of Ashby, MA. Mrs. Gately was the daughter of the late Donaldina (MacDonald ) and the late Leo P. Kelley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in the United Church of Christ, 1541 Washington St., Canton on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton on Friday 4-8PM. Donations in Donnie's memory may be made to Rosie's Place 889 Harrison Ave. Boston, MA 02120.
