Donald L. Berry, 88, died Wednesday, September 12, at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Alma F. (Randall) Berry. Born in Swampscott, he was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. He lived in Walpole for over 25 years before moving to Stoughton about one year ago. He was previously from Roslindale. Mr. Berry worked as a Truck Driver for both Shuman Transportation and Yale Trucking. He was a member of Teamsters Local 25 in Boston. He retired many years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed reading and listening to his police scanner.
He is survived by his children, Alvin Berry of Boston, Warren Berry and his wife Lillian of S. Boston, Diana Pedranti and her husband Edward of Brockton, Donald Berry and his wife Cathy of Arlington and Charles Berry and his wife Kathleen of PA. He was the brother of Paul Berry and Joan Hicks both of NH, Celia Warren of FL and the late Barbara Billings, Wayland Berry, Gilbert Berry and Nancy Berry. In addition to his wife Alma, he was predeceased by his children Donna Calway and Lawrence Berry. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday Night, September 15, at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 3-6 PM. Donations in Donald's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will be private.
