Dolores P. (Wimberly) Denison, 88, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was the wife of the late John W. Denison, Sr., Dominic Pupello and James J. Mellen. Born in Detroit, MI, she was educated in Iowa schools. Dolores was a resident of Stoughton for 22 years after living in Florida for over 15 years. She was an administrative assistant for many years before retiring in 1994. Dolores developed an interest in art later in life and produced many wonderful works. She was an avid boater and was active in the Taunton River Power Squadron years ago.
Mrs. Denison was the mother of Kathleen Gilstrap of Brockton and the late Linda and James Mellen. She was the stepmother of John W. Denison, Jr. and his wife Karon of E. Taunton and Elizabeth Ann Lee and her husband Kevin of S. Dartmouth. She was the grandmother of Michael Lewis and his wife Stephanie, Jessica Frazer and Denise Kastman and her husband Michael. She was the sister of Doris Holliday, Beverly Suhl and Karen Sinkler all of Iowa. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 6 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores' memory may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
