Dennis D. McCarthy, 67, died at home Sunday, July 12, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of 41 years of Lorraine J. (Palladino) McCarthy. Born in Winthrop, he was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of Boston Technical and Franklin Institute. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University in Boston. He was a Proud Veteran of the US Navy for 2 years during the Vietnam Era and served in the Naval Reserves for over 23 years. Mr. McCarthy was a longtime dedicated employee of the Canam Steel Corporation in South Easton as a Sales Engineer. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Cedar Hill Golf Committee and Past President of the Stoughton Friends for Seniors. An avid fan of the Boston sports teams, in his free time he enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ryan R. McCarthy of Raynham and his daughter, Amanda A. Corbin and her husband Christopher A. of East Bridgewater. He was the grandfather of Molly, Emily and Evan McCarthy and Donovan Dennis Corbin. He was the brother of Maureen Freitas and her late husband Edward of Billerica and Patricia Hart and her husband Peter of Georgetown.

Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street, (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, July 20th at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday, July 19th from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Donations in Dennis' name may be made to St. James Church in Memory of Dennis D. McCarthy, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, 02072, Attn: Jen Jones.
