Debra J. (McDonough) MacKay, 56, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by her loving family. She was the Beloved Wife of 33 years of MSGT Paul S. MacKay, USAF (Ret.), including 24 years as a USAF military spouse. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1977. Mrs. MacKay was a resident of the Tampa, FL area for the past 20 years. She was an avid hockey fan and was a fan of the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. She was fortunate enough to be at the final game of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals and watched the Lightning win their first Stanley Cup. In her free time, she enjoyed all crafts, particularly crossstitch and knitting and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter Stephanie N. MacKay and her fiancé Zack Santini of Las Vegas, NV. She was the sister of Michael P. McDonough of TX and John R. McDonough of Stoughton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, April 17, from 2-4 followed by a Celebration of Debra's Life at 4 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St., Suite 204-101, Brockton, MA 02301.
