David J. Roberts

David J. Roberts, 76, devoted and loving husband of Nancy (Bellows) Roberts passed away on March 20 after a long illness at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Jamaica Plain, he was a graduate of Boston Trade School. During the Korean War he joined the military and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. After he was discharged, he worked for a Boston printing firm for 40 years. During that time he joined the Army National Guard for 6 years and retired as a Retention Officer. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Howard Masonic Lodge in South Yarmouth and former member of the Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton. He had lived in Stoughton for 26 years before moving to Yarmouthport 12 years ago.
Loving father to 3 daughters, Sharon L. Sullivan and husband Donald, Carole J. Coughlin and husband Paul and Lynn Ball. 7 grandchildren: Kristen, Danielle, Andrew, Nanci, Shannon, David and predeceased by Kerri Sullivan. Brother of Gladys Flynn.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 3055 Main St., Rt. 6A, Barnstable on Friday, March 26 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will take place at VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or Animal Rescue League, 3981 Main St., Brewster, MA 02631.
