Darlene M. (Foster Rice) Jones

February 1, 1958 - October 15, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our loving mother and sister, Darlene Jones, formerly of Brockton. Daughter of the late William and Joan (McEachron) Rice, she was raised and educated in Brockton and was a 1976 graduate of Brockton High School. She and her husband lived briefly in Connecticut, Washington and Hawaii, ultimately settling in San Angelo Texas, where they worked and raised their three boys, Joshua, Justin and Jarett. In 2011 she moved back to South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed traveling, sight-seeing and above all spending time with her family and friends. Darlene was full of life, loving, warm, outgoing and always happy – with an infectious laugh. She had a gift for making people smile. She had a unique style and was not afraid to be herself. Her sons and grandchildren were the light of her life. Over the summer she had a big family reunion where she just beamed with joy for weeks. She was so proud of them all and she was their biggest cheerleader.

She will always be in our hearts shining bright through those she touched.

Darlene is survived by her three sons, Joshua L. Jones of IN, Justin R. Jones and Jarett K. Jones both of TX.  She was sister to Sheila Jones and her husband Steven of W. Yarmouth, Patricia Mauro of Braintree MA and Kimberly Rice-Bogdan and her husband Janos of Santa Clarita, CA.  She is also survived by her three loving grandchildren, Lorelai Manning, Annabelle Jones and Jaxxon Jones, as well as her devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and her many dear friends including the Andresen, Reid, Farren, and the Francis families.

A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street, Stoughton on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 9-10AM with Funeral Services to follow at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Stoughton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene‘s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Suite 6, Waltham, 02451.
