Daniel G. Morganelli, 87, a longtime resident of Sharon, died June 15, 2017 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Louise (Deveau) Morganelli. Born in Boston, son of Donato and Pasqualena (Morganella) Morganelli, he was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Schools. He was a resident of Sharon for over 55 years. He worked for many years as the owner of Dan Morganelli General Contractor and retired several years ago. He was an avid supporter of all Boston Sports teams and enjoyed golfing, music, dancing, playing the accordion, deep sea fishing and playing pool. He was the longtime sponsor, manager and player on the G&M Contracting Softball Team in Sharon. He enjoyed traveling the world with Dottie, his wife of 66 years and had been to 17 countries, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Mr. Morganelli is survived by his children, Daniel R. Morganelli and his wife Linda of East Taunton, Dianne M. Morganelli of Sharon and David M. Morganelli and his wife Joyce of Holliston. He was the brother of George Morganelli of Burlington, Sally Diesso of Sharon, Josie Petillo of Lynnfield, Lena Marino of Easton and the late Nick Morganelli. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, June 20, at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sharon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday, June 19, from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
