Daniel F. Gonsalves, 81, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Son of the late Anthony and Antonia Gonsalves, he was born in Stoughton. Dan was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1954. Dan was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked in the stock room at Masoneilan in Avon for 40 years before retiring in 1999. Dan was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 200 in Stoughton. He was inducted into the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame for football, baseball and track. He enjoyed playing golf and trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas.
Dan was the brother of the late Leo Gonsalves, Gene Gonsalves and Cecelia Hunt. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High St., Canton on Wednesday, July 26 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.
