Daniel M. Gomes, 62, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center on Saturday, September 14, 2019 after a period of failing health. Son of the late Manuel D. and Phyllis (Andrade) Gomes, he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. Daniel was a resident of Stoughton since 1976. He was a graduate of Natick High School. He was a cook at Charlie's Deli in Sharon for the past 20 years.
Daniel is survived by his siblings, Kenneth Lucas and Manuel "Danny" Gomes, Jr. both of California, Renee Barbosa of Washington, DC and twin brothers David W. Gomes and Dana A. Gomes both of Stoughton. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, 5 great-nieces and close friends.
A graveside service will be held at Dry Pond Cemetery, corner of Bay Road and Plain Street, Stoughton on Monday, September 23 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
