Daniel R. Falvey, Jr., 78, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of 54 years of Margaret T. "Peggy" (Beatty) Falvey. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. He also was a graduate of Eastcoast Aerotech. Mr. Falvey was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Foreman for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation at the Wellesley Yard for many years, retiring due to and injury in 1993. Prior to that, he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at Northeast Airlines at Logan Airport. He was a handyman who loved working on antique cars and going to breakfast daily at Peppercorns in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed making dollhouses for his granddaughters, watching the Red Sox and Patriots and spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Daniel R. Falvey and Joseph P. Falvey and his fiancé Angela Salmon-Collins all of Halifax and Marie Falvey of Stoughton. He was the brother of Robert Falvey of Kingston and the late Rita Beatty. He was the grandfather of Emily Falvey, Sean Falvey, Brittney Falvey and Teddy Collins. He is also survived by one aunt, several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Dan's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
