Craig M. McCloskey, 69, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a long period of declining health. Born in Manchester, NH he was the son of the late Doria (Lanza) McCloskey and Lt. Col. Charles L. McCloskey, Jr. USAF (Ret). As an Air Force Brat, he frequently moved with his family and was raised and educated in Connecticut, New York, California and Japan before settling in Canton, MA. He was a graduate of Canton High School. He also was a graduate of Northeastern University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and later earned his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management. In 1975, he married Joanne M. Potter at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Woonsocket, RI, and together they enjoyed over 47 years of marriage and raised their beloved son Brad. They moved to Stoughton in 1977. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Radio Frequency Company in Millis and worked as a Mechanical Engineer from 1981 until his retirement in 2019. Craig was a man of many interests, photography being one of them. He was a gifted and enthusiastic photographer and could always be found with his camera ready. He enjoyed reading and sports and was a certified scuba diver. Craig also enjoyed working in his yard and traveling and enjoyed his cruises and trips to Italy and other parts of Europe. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife Joanne M. (Potter) McCloskey, he is survived by his son Brad P. McCloskey and his wife Bethany (Gresh) McCloskey of Hanover. He was the beloved Grandpa of Isla and Kenna McCloskey and was the brother of Carla A. Barlow of Weymouth and Lisa McCloskey of Wrentham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10AM-11:30AM with Funeral Prayers to follow at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Craig’s memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02115.
