Colleen D. Benson, 51, died Monday, October 22, after being stricken ill at her home. She was daughter of Alfred E. Benson of Stoughton and the late Claire (Gilligan) Benson. Born in Boston, she was a resident of Stoughton for many years and a graduate of Stoughton Schools. She was also a graduate of Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Ms. Benson was a resident of Alpharetta, GA for 15 years, previously living in Delaware for 2 years. She worked as a respiratory therapist for the Atlanta Pulmonary Group in Georgia for many years. Ms. Benson was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Alpharetta, GA and a member of its Legion of Mary. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister Claire M. Davis of Mansfield, and her brothers: Alfred E. Benson Jr. of FL., Mark A. Benson of MN and Michael D. Benson of Rockland. She is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, October 27, at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Donations in Colleen's memory may be made to American Lung Assn, 480 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
