Clifford E. Mayo, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marjorie E. (Connors) Mayo, who passed away on December 13, 2023 after 68 years of marriage. Son of the late Clifford R. and Ida (Batte) Mayo, he was born in Norwood and raised in Canton. He was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1951. Cliff was an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He resided in Stoughton since 1955. He was an electrician for Dykeman Electric in Stoughton and the Simeone Corporation for 20 years before retiring at age 55. He was an excellent handyman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking their dog and spending time with his family and friends.
Cliff was the father to three sons, Robert J. Mayo and his wife Pamela of Dartmouth, Charles E. Mayo of Stoughton and the late Steven J. Mayo and the grandfather of Ian Mayo of Dartmouth and Elizabeth Mayo of Bend, Oregon. He was the brother of Richard Mayo of Florida, Arthur Mayo of Canton and the late Edward Mayo, Robert Mayo and Maureen Ciannavei. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clifford ‘s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 (https://www.dana-farber.org/).
