Clement J. Leary, 73, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Ann M. (Chapman) Leary. Born in Norwood, he was raised and educated in Canton and was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1960. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1960-1964. Mr. Leary worked as a Postal Worker in Westwood and Stoughton for many years, retiring in 1997. After his retirement, he worked at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton for several years. Clem was a lover of sports, former Little League coach and avid fan of the Boston Bruins. He was a member of the Canton Town Club, and was an avid golfer who played every Monday in the Town Club League at Wampatuck Country Club in Canton. Clem also played in the men's over 30 softball league in Canton for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Kelly A. Kenneally and her husband Martin of Bridgewater, Clement J. Leary, Jr. and his wife Jannette of Abington and Erin M. Silver and her husband Sean of Easton. He was the devoted grandfather of Isabella Kenneally, Owen and Colin Leary and Griffin and Will Silver. He was the brother of Paul Leary of West Virginia, Mary Ellen O'Leary of Florida, Nancy Pagels of Bridgewater, Mark Leary of Natick and Frances Leary of S. Dennis. He was also the brother of the late Charles Leary, who died two days earlier, on November 29. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 7 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-6 PM. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Clem's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
