Claire L. (Flaherty) Shockley, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Norwood Hospital on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Shockley. Daughter of the late Charles C. and Minnie A. (MacKay) Flaherty, she was born and raised in Boston. Claire was educated in Boston schools and graduated from Holy Trinity School, Class of 1953. She was a resident of Stoughton for 53 years. She was a homemaker at home with her family. Claire was Pro-Life and enjoyed playing the piano and camping.
Mrs. Shockley is survived by her children, Edward L. Shockley, Jr. of Middleboro, Ann L. Flynn, Gerard C. Shockley and Brian A. Shockley all of Stoughton, Karen V. Shockley of Norton and Daniel F. Shockley of Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late Mary Gilraine and Charles Flaherty, Jr. and stepsister of the late William MacKay. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, October 26 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
