Claire M. (Kelley) Kemp, 96, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at WakeMed Center in Raleigh, NC on February 25, 2016. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Kemp. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School. She was a lifelong resident of Stoughton before moving to Foxboro in 2010. She resided in Foxboro for 4 years before moving to West Palm Beach, Florida 2 years ago. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. Mrs. Kemp was the secretary and paymaster for the Massachusetts Air National Guard for over 20 years before retiring at age 66. She enjoyed playing golf and Bingo, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kemp is survived by her children, Alfred R. Kemp of South Carolina, Judith E. Spinola of North Carolina and Terrance P. Kemp of Florida. She was the sister of Joan Sweeney of Easton, formerly of Stoughton and the late Frances Kelley. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, March 1 at 11 AM. Visitation prior from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
