Claire M. (O'Brien) Galizio

Claire M. (O'Brien) Galizio, 77, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by her family and her sisters. She was the wife of 58 years of Gerard D. Galizio, who died October 10, 2016. Born and raised in South Boston, she was a graduate of South Boston High School. Mrs. Galizio was a longtime resident of Stoughton. She was a dedicated homemaker who also worked as a School Bus Driver for Unda's Bus and Stoughton Schools for many years. Several years ago, she was very active in Stoyac Sports as a member of the Board of Directors and also as a cheerleading coach. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband on cruises and to Europe, but above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Galizio is survived by her daughters, Pamela A. Lewis and her husband Brian of Bridgewater and Kerry A. Pires and her husband Stephen of Easton and her sons, Keith A. Galizio and his wife Paula of Bourne and Gerard F. Galizio and his wife Diane of Norton. She was the grandmother of Zachary Lewis and his wife Cassie, Melissa and Mackenzie Lewis, Kailey, Corey and Christopher Pires and Christina, Kristen and Gregory Galizio. She was the great-grandmother of Zoe Ann Lewis. Mrs. Galizio was the sister of Edward O'Brien of Duxbury, Maryann Fennessy of Quincy, Eileen Dykens of Weymouth and the late Jackie O'Brien and Charles O'Brien. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase St., S. Easton on Friday, June 16 at 11 AM. Visiting hours omitted. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire's memory may be made to, My Brother's Keeper, Inc. P.O. Box 338, Easton, MA 02356.
