Claire A. (Mudge) Amaral, 77, a longtime resident of Boston, died peacefully at her daughter's home in Randolph on Monday, June 10 surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Phillips) Mudge, she was born in Boston and attended South Boston Schools. She was a resident of Boston for many years. Claire was a housekeeper at the YMCA in Boston for 15 years after working at Boston University for 3 years. She retired 18 years ago. She was devoted to her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends. Claire's family would like to thank the caring staff and patients of the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham.
Claire was the mother of John M. Amaral, Jr. of Fall River, Nannette Heib and her husband Andrew of MI, Marianne Amaral of Marshfield, Cheryl A. Amaral of Randolph, Joanne Hickey of VT and the late Constance A. Amaral. She is also survived by John M. Amaral, her beloved nephew George Seeley, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon on Saturday, June 15 at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, June 14 from 5-8 PM. Interment will be private.
