Ciderio J. Aguiar, 78, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton. He was the husband of 52 years of Maria C. (Raposo) Aguiar. Born on the island of San Miguel in the Azores, he was raised and educated on San Miguel. He was a veteran of the Portuguese Air Force. Mr. Aguiar came to the United States in 1977 and settled in Stoughton. He worked for Cumberland Farms in Canton for many years as a Diesel Mechanic. Prior to that he worked at Parker's Express in Avon for over 10 years. He was a member of the San Joao Filharmonic Society in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed soccer, wrestling, gardening, working on engines and walking. He also enjoyed tending to his grape vines, making wine and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Isabel Aguiar, Luis Aguiar and Eduardo Aguiar all of Stoughton and Nelia Aguiar of AL. He was the grandfather of Samantha Aguiar Gomes, Ashley, Makenzie, Cassey and Dylan Aguiar. He was the brother of Jose Aguiar and Alice Moniz both of Fall River and Arturo Aguiar of Berkley. He was the great grandfather of Brianna, Shelby, Daisy and Cameron Aguiar. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday, August 26, from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Cid's memory may be made to his family or to the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton.
