Charles J. Vuytowecz, 86, a longtime resident of Avon, died unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was the husband of the late Janet C. (Yannalfo) Vuytowecz. Son of the late Karol and Nellie (Zygmuntowicz) Vuytowecz, he was born and raised in Haverhill. He was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He served in the U.S. National Guard for 8 years. He was a resident of Avon for 48 years. Charles was the President and Founder of American Consumer Credit Counseling in Waltham from 1990 until his retirement in 1999. He had previously worked for the Canton Journal and the Dedham Transcript. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and playing tennis in Randolph but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his children, Michael Vuytowecz and his wife Martha of Panama, Charles J. Vuytowecz, Jr. and his wife Pamela of California and Mary-Jo Shilalis of West Bridgewater. He was the grandfather of Jonathan Shilalis, Ryan Shilalis, Katherine Shilalis, Charles Vuytowecz, III, Heather Curry, Jeffrey Vuytowecz and Tina Vuytowecz and the great-grandfather of Charlize Curry, Christian Curry, Jayson Vuytowecz and Krissy Vuytowecz. He was the brother of the late John Vuytowecz, Mary Gosselin, Helen Robinson and Stacia Demaris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 10 at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-6 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
