Charles M. Vaughn, Sr., 83, died Monday, January 14, 2019, at MGH in Boston. He was the husband of Evelyn (Coleman) Vaughn. Born in Roxbury, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After his honorary discharge from the Air Force, he attended and graduated from Boston University. He was a resident of Marblehead for the past several years, previously living in Woburn, Arlington & Marshfield. Mr. Vaughn worked for Grumman Aviation for many years, retiring several years ago. After his retirement, along with being a paralegal and researcher, he continued his passion for drumming and became a jazz drummer in several area bands including the Apple Tree Band and at the Marblehead Little Theater. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, C. Michael Vaughn, Jr. and his wife Carol of CT, Catherine M. Vaughn of Humarock, James D. Vaughn of Marshfield, Coleman M. Vaughn of CA, David M. Vaughn of S. Boston, Christopher M. Vaughn of CT and the late Daniel F. Vaughn. He was the grandfather of Alexandra and Andrew Vaughn. He was the brother of Ellen Soares and uncle to six nephews & nieces of East Falmouth and the late Mary Vaughn. He is also survived by his nephew PJ. Vande Rydt of Westwood.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 19, at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to the prayers from 10-11AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
