Charles Eugene Ligonde Sr., 94, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, after a period of failing health. Born and raised and educated in Cayes, Haiti, he moved to the United States in 1984 and settled in Mattapan. He moved to Randolph 14 years ago. While in Haiti, he worked in the financial services industry. Upon settling in Mattapan, he worked at the Deges Tibes Restaurant for several years. He was an active parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church in Roslindale's Haitian Charismatic Renewal Prayer Group. He was a devoutly religious man who said the rosary daily and often found himself in deep prayer. While in Haiti, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing Parcheesi with family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed watching basketball. He was an active part of his children and grandchildren's lives and enjoyed taking care of them and the daily interactions with them.
Mr. Ligonde is survived by his 21 children: Paula Albert, Joseph Gerard Ligonde, Lamercie Larrieux, Marie Yvanne Ligonde, Eugene Ligonde, Marie Josy St. Victor, Maria Michelle Renelique, Jean Lucien Ligonde, P. Kenold Julien, E. Suzy Bien-Aime', Garcia Ligonde, E. Herold Julien, Judi Jean Marie Ligonde, Jean-Claude Roslinvil, Jean-Yves Rosinvil, Frantz Rosinvil, Charles E. Rosinvil, Joseph Francois, Rose Michele J. Francois, Marie C. Esther Jean Baptiste and Yves Joseph Julien. He was the brother of the late Alice Pierrot, Rene Ligonde and Corine Ligonde. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, September 23 at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 169 Cummins Hwy, Roslindale at 10 AM.
